I have been toying with the idea of setting up a cheap media server. It does not have to be Windows based as I can handle Linux. It would be for serving photos, movies, music and some documents as we have a bunch of Sophie medical stuff that right now I am using Dropbox for, but I want more control.

My goal is to get a computer setup for $250 without hard drives. I donít mind used for some parts, but will look for something that is not too outdated.

Anyone have any thoughts out there?

If it weren't for the last minute, nothing would get done.
