a friend of mine has the big green egg and he doesn't use anything else anymore. He sold his regular grill and uses nothing else now. It's his favorite thing.

I bought our weber genesis propane used and maybe have used it 3 times in the last few years. I always use my weber kettle, but now I think i can get rid of them all or at least put one of the weber kettles in storage and keep it in case I need to have a couple grills going for party food. I'll definitely sell the propane though.

Looking at at that fb group, I think you need about 23 of the kettles in various sizes, colors, and vintage to be considered a real man.

I think it is on par, but BGE has been around a lot longer. I just can't justify spending over double the price.

From what I've read (and I read about these a LOT) the basic kamado is pretty much the same. It's what comes with it that makes the difference. BGE charges more for the brand and then all the accessories cost even more. The other brands are coming in and charging less and/or maybe including accessories. I know my vision came with the stand, cover and all the rack. I only bought a temp gauge and a heat diffuser/stone (<$100 total for both). And my grill retails for less than the very basic BGE w/o ANY accessories.

Bought both for $305 on Facebook Marketplace. Met the guy to buy the amp for $80 and he told me about the Strat, I went back the next day and bought the Strat for $225. Guitar came with a nice case too.

    Saucony Hurricane ISO 2's

I've run through three pairs of these over the last 1.5 years and they work well but the 2 pairs I'm using now are toast. I started getting shooting knee pain on Friday night and had to cut a run short so while I take a few days off I'm getting new shoes.

Also just picked up new shoes Dave. Had knee/ankle pain, VERY sharp for short periods of time. New shoes and pain is gone...

    very nice Brian!

Oh, and I ordered a RX10 IV that will ship monday and arrive tuesday. I want to test it -vs- the 150-600 for tele shots but it's also to test for blogging/vlogging/high framerate video. Bonus is it takes the same batteries as the a6300/a7rii and it's a ton smaller than the 150-600 if I can ditch that... but that's been one piece of kit I'm finding VERY hard to sell -vs- it's cost...

I've been needed a new bike helmet so after a strong recommendation from a friend I bought this:

Integrated front and rear flashing lights, turn signals controlled by a remote on the handlebars, and a brake light that automatically senses when you slow down and lights up. I can't wait to get it.

Finally found a cheap FE50. I hate paying full price.

Now I have 19, 50 and 85 to go along with the 10-18. Just need something between the 19 and 50.

is the 19mm full frame? 28 does seem like it fits right in the middle there...

I'm still on the fence. I don't love the batis 25mm for some reason? I think I just wish it was faster? My predicament right now is choosing between the sony 100-400 and the tamron version. I also need to choose a wide fast prime between the sony 28mm, batis 25mm and the sigma 16mm. If sony would make a 24mm 1.8 I'd be all over it. The 28mm was a great lens but I wished it was wider and to be 100% honest the build bugs me? And it's funny I love the 50mm 1.8, it's just a shape thing? The 28mm is just a boring cylinder (like the 24 1.8 and 55 1.8)... Size of the lens, aperture, and price all come into play in BOTH decisions. The first step is getting the tamron here because if it works it's smaller lighter and 1/3 the price of the sony. But that makes me very skeptical! I've loved my other tamrons and it was promising at expo.

I'm headed towards 3 primes (25/50/85) and 3 zooms (12-24, 24-105, 100-400) hopefully. I just need to sort a few details out. The other detail is to get filters for the 12-24mm so I can sell my 16-35mm. The issue there is the 150x175mm filters cost more than I can sell my 16-35mm for but if I sell the smaller filters and just move everything to the larger size I'd save/make money... But then I have to carry massive filters and 2 holders which I'd prefer not to do. But I'm keeping the 12-24mm for arch and astro shooting so I think it's worth it to get to 3 zooms. NiSi is making their S5 kit for the 12-24mm "before the end of the year/early 2018" so I'm waiting on that so it'll have a rotating CP.

The 19 is the Sigma 2.8 for E mount. So I am still on the fence for 28 or maybe the 35 2.8. The latter is something I loved on FF and if and when I go back, then the size is perfect.

If Sony came out with a 24 2.8, I would be all over it! Then yeah, a 24/50/85 with the 10-18 would be everything needed.

Give me a full-frame one that is about a half-inch high, then yes. Sure, I'd like f/2 but I think I prize corner sharpness less than my fellow man does. I mean, I want things sharp as well but I'm willing to have a different lens for that. I will give up a lot to have a pocketable camera.

This exactly. It about FF and Size. Any ways a 24 2.8 on FF is similar to a 16 1.8 on APS-c.

  37. #10037

I still want f/2 or 1.8 even. Make it 50mm 1.8 size. I know it's possible, look how small the original canon 24L was vs the new versions. I also agree with Andy, absolute corner sharpness is NOT crucial. And also, lets make this thing collapse in on itself while we're at it. Slide a lever on the side, a built in lens cap opens and the thing doubles in size from pancake size to 2x that size. Yes a prime that extends to make it super pocketable but also fast.

    TAKE MY MONEY!

THIS! I have a 1939 Zeiss camera that shoots 120 film with an 80mm f/2.8 lens that folds up and fits in a jacket pocket. Even just a built in lens cap would be a huge savings in carry thickness. Most of the savings in thickness in the Ricoh GR is from these two things.

I really find the A7R2 and A7R sensors to be about as good as I need. The Leica Q sensor is fine except for light banding at ISO 6400 with really dark subjects (me, at night, at f/1.7 1/4s sort of dark).

Or this could just be a passing fancy as I haven't downloaded a Phase 1 sample in a while.

exactly what made me think of it. The x70 nd x100 both have small/pancake lenses, but I want something in that range and being that it's in an interchangable package I think it needs to collapse.

    +1
I don't even need what the a7rii can produce. I upgrade these days mostly based on speed, both AF and operational speed as that helps a ton. The a7ii was a great body, I only went to the rii for the AF. I will say having an R now it's very nice for being able to use it in crop mode and still have 19mp in use.

I bought an Apple Watch last week...finally folded after getting too annoyed with how bad the syncing between Garmin and Apple Health was. Still figuring out what the best workout/run tracking app is, but I love the watch so far.

I also bought my tickets for The Last Jedi. 7PM on Thursday, 12/14.

It does get irritating syncing up the Garmin! When it does it is good, but at least twice a month it keeps dropping.

Since the iOS 11 update, my Garmin has been unpairing with my phone almost every time I try to use it. In addition to that, it syncs workout immediately but only syncs steps every 24 hours and then sometimes even not then?
