Thread: Houston Studio time March 20th 2010

I just tried looking on my own, and it appears that you can't get from Baltimore to Houston in one connection. Richmond is no better than Dulles, cuz I'd have to catch the 7AM flight back from Houston to get back to Richmond too.

Trying to figure out if I'm still in or not.

Right now I'm trying to figure out whether I want to burn a day of vacation time on Monday (and take the 7AM flight back from HOU), since I'd feel horrible if I came down and didn't have time to see my grandparents. Any chance you could look up that flight for me?

Geoff, you will have no problem coming back on Monday on the 7am connecting with the 1:25pm flight to DC. both flights are half full at the moment.

Caitlyn, I thought you were planning on staying down there for a few extra days anyway?

I can't stay extra days PAST sunday, only before. I'm on Spring Break till the 21st.

Bah I hardly went to any classes at all. I think I went to 1 computer studies class and 0 of aboriginal studies and 0 of botany. No one cared that I didn't turn up and passed all 3. Thinking back it's probably why I left Uni as I hated studying lol.

IDK, if you were thinking about buying a $1500 lens then maybe you can just pay for a 1 way back earlier. We or someone would be able to take you to the airport. Just a thought... carry on.

While I cannot speak for Caity, I will offer my own personal opinions on the matter. For me, $85 round-trip is cheap enough (and so much cheaper than usual) that I'd fly without a second thought. $85 each way would give me pause, but I'd probably still be up for it since it'd still represent a significant savings over the standard airfare.

$45 to fly out and then $260 to fly back means she's looking at spending over $300 on airfare to spend a single day with a bunch of people who have spent years humping her leg over the internet.

Even without the leg-humping, $300 is a lot of money to spend on a non-essential trip, especially one that lasts just a single day. That's $300 she can't spend on anything else, and $300 more that she'd have to save up for the 70-200. That's also how much it'd cost to buy an AlienBee B800 + an inexpensive light stand. I know that I personally wouldn't mind spending $100 to meet up with all of you in person, but I don't love you all $300 much. Hate me if you want, but if you wouldn't spend $300+ to fly out to DC and meet me, then you should see where I'm coming from.

James, how are the tickets looking? I need to let them know on Monday, but told them I have a "work related trip that's in the air due to airline tickets". So if we're locked in on the tickets I'm coming for sure, but if the tickets looks sketchy....... I told them I'd let them know monday.

here's the deal. For that ski trip I'll get paid between $75 and $100 TO GO SKIING (plus the lift ticket). To go to TX it's ~$75 PLUS whatever we spend there. So that's at least a $150 difference in my empty wallet. But it's not just that, the last 2 times she's called I've had to flake (Elias' bday party and something else) and the last 2 times I've skied I've gone for free but not as the listed escort (and Nikki birtbagged last weekend too). So I kinda owe them. She sounded like she understood, but I'm just saying, if Jim says the tickets are full, I'm bailing. I CAN NOT risk being here next weekend because the tickets didn't work and not be working for them.

but yeah, I 100% want to do this over skiing. I even have "photo money" set aside for this trip. If tickets are not an issue, I'm there.

Can everyone decide by the end of the day if they're backing out or not? I'm buying food and booze first thing in the morning and although more is better than not enough, I still would like to know who's NOT coming....

I'm glad you like. Anyway in all seriousness I understand things happen. I'm just giving you guys are hard time. I'm not being serious so don't take my jabs personally. I sure as he'll don't want anyone to be broke trying to make it here, there us no fun in that. It would be awesome for people to come down. But if it doesn't happen it's all good.
