Canon 1Ds Mark III MKIII camera ( 22 MP) - $2240

Canon 1Ds Mark III MKIII camera ( 22 MP). Camera is like new condition with no signs of use AT ALL and less than 10,000 captures.
Comes with all trimmings just like from the store PLUS extra battery.
Camera was used as a back up for my first body. Never abused. I am a professional photographer BUT I keep my gear in perfect shape (believe it or not). I am also member of Canon's CPS program and would gladly help future owner with ALL servicing of the camera with priority service at Canon Mississauga.

The cheapest I've seen for one used in the US is ~$4000... so, yes, probably a scam.

Well, here's the vendor's reply:

Hey Angelo ,

It`s still available and if you want pictures or specs please let me know . The price is 2240 $ and is a little bit negotiable , probably 2200 $ is my last price .

The camera is new and under warranty .The reason I am selling it , is because I am in the military and my unit will be sent back to Afghanistan for a mission that will take 6 months and I don't want to keep it .I am selling it so low because I need to sell it before February 18 th.

I already have tons of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out and I hope you won't make me loose time as it has already happened to me. If you will decide to buy it I am willing to pay for the shipping costs .

It's a great selling point.

He mentioned the lowest price he would go. Seriously? Who does that. (Granted, tons of people from craigslist ask me whats the lowest I'll take)

Ask him for references, ect: ebay Or even a picture with his name in it.

i dont know about you, but when i buy on craigslist, its always in person, cash only.

oh, right. Yeah, can you paypal this dude? That's the only way I'd consider it since they'll go to bat for you. Otherwise cash in hand local only.

I e-mailed him back saying that I typically only deal locally, and asked where he's shipping from. I'll post back any replies.

Honestly, a 1Ds III at this price would pretty much solve my 7D/5Dii/1Diii/1Dsii/D700 problems.

good point, just be careful if he agrees to not use a "paypal" link in his email. There are tons of realistic looking paypal sites used for phishing.

You never know, i bought a nearly brand new 1Ds MII for $2k last year. Older guy "came into some money, bought gear not knowing which direction he wanted to go in" it sat in his house for ages, finally sold it to make back some cash.

Hmm, it was deleted and relisted on CL.
