The question is simple: How to get rid of the imperfections of a diamond wedding ring...? As you see there are tiny cracks and spots on the diamond on the wedding ring. How can I get rid of them and make the ring look perfect?

this is quick and dirty, i only got the major clusters

what i did was:
duplicate layer
high pass @2.4 with the above resolution
ctrl+i to invert the layer
blending mode to overlay
filled the mask black
took a brush at 100% and applied white on the mask to areas, and avoided the edges of the facets
after i got enough of them i duplicated the layer to apply the effect twice

i would clean the damn ring before you shoot it. most of that looks like grime that built up on the ring.

yeah, get some high end jewlery cleaner... also most jewlers have some steam cleaning machines and they will clean your rock up real quick for free.

DING!

drop it in the ultrasonic bath for ~30 seconds then blow the water off. Maybe polish it really quick if it's scratched to hell....
:whatever:
