Yeah, I was leaving the house and she was on the couch cushion Moseley usually sits on (it's over a heat vent, and it's right by the window)... He's heavier to it's pretty low from him... I was sitting at the door tying my shoes and saw how it looked from that angle and the camera was in the bag right there so it was perfect. She's not even pissed, she just flips her ears back when you take pictures of her sometimes.

It's got a weird red/blue color balance issue to it. I fixed it in PS when I edited it (it's a RAW!) but I forgot RAWs like to open in Adobe RGB, not regular RGB, so when it converted it it got a little off again. Oh well, too lazy to fix it.

Okay, this is the face I make when I get tired of trying to get the focus right on my self-portrait! I'm not happy with this, but I did learn some things.. I'm just tired of trying to get it right... I need someone else to model.

I have been playing around with the off-camera lighting... I know the lighting is really different, but the end-goal is to get portraits like this: http://www.nicolasguerin.com/ <--If this doesn't link to the right photo, look for the b/w of Daniel Craig.

(I was not trying to recreate that lighting, btw--that would involve equipment I don't have, yet)

^ Loving that shot! I have a soft spot for symmetry. It was a hard soft spot to get away from with photography but shots like that work.

Thanks, it's not perfect (a bit tilted) but I kind of like it too. I've always enjoyed playing with symmetry (also placing things just off so they bug the viewer  ). As I'm trying to carry the camera with me through the day, I'm hoping to do more where I focus on shapes, texture and colors like that a bit differently from what I've done so far with this PAD thing. Symmetry will come and go, I always liked breaking rules, like the rule of 1/3s.

I agree. There are shots when breaking the rule of 1/3's is a good thing.

Sorry for all the dog pictures. I've been sick and haven't wanted to go any further than the couch.

How does she feel about you taking her picture everyday? You know you're just getting her ready for the paparazzi! ;)

How does she feel about you taking her picture everyday?

Most of the time she still loves it but she does have her mood swings, which helps me to get some good pictures :)

You know you're just getting her ready for the paparazzi! ;)

She is used to strangers coming up to her all the time telling her how cute she is and fawning all over her and she usually responds with a diva like attitude (sometimes she can be quite shy though). If she is not used to a flash going off by now she never will...
