in case you some how missed it, I just moved the forum to /root from /forum. I setup a .htaccess in the old /forum directory so all existing links to threads (and spider crawls, search engine results, etc) SHOULD work. Even your old bookmark should get you here.

But yeah, I'm sure I ****ed something up, so post your issues here. Also, post here once you get in so I know it actually worked! :diaf:

The old blog will live at nsop.com/blog while we need it. But I'll be using the CMS from now on for the things we used to do with the blog. NSOP.com is now using vb's CMS which is both nice and a PITA at the same time.

Nice! The URL business was confusing me.

My old link took me to a login page, where it already had my cached password. When I logged in, it told me I did not have access to that part of the forum. I was already on the forum tab, but when I clicked it again, it took me to the page with all the subforums. If you already knew that, sorry. I didn't really know how to search for that kinda thing.

yeah, it took me a few days to get a solid answer on how the forwarding would work. Once I got an answer that works AND doesn't fubar all our old links (like gear links in sigs for example), only then did I do it. But yeah, lots of googling and posting the the vb forum.

Okay, I can log in, but it didn't look like I was logged in.

Okay, I can log in, but it didn't look like I was logged in.

That's what has been happening for me since the upgrade. This time however, it told me I didn't have access.

the access issue is probably your bookmark link. The not logged in on the CMS is vb4, and that should be fixed very soon here with the 4.0.1 upgrade (it's listed as coming out the week of 1.7.2010 which has how many days left?).

it actually helped me log into the main CMS page and it remembered me for once, but then I went to the forum and BACK to the CMS page and it had kicked me out. :diaf:

Root (verb and noun) : synonym for f*ck in nearly all its senses: "I feel rooted"; "this washing machine is rooted"; "(s)he's a good root". A very useful word in fairly polite company.
