I'm really not trying to hog all the first posts, but I have to post this before I go to work.

The sunrise this morning was pretty blah--it was really red for a minute, then quickly gave way to clouds/mist/grayness. Shortly after that, it started raining buckets (when we were supposed to be leaving). But that's the way the cookie crumbles, I guess.

No no no--I said the SUNRISE was pretty blah--that photo was taken during like a 3 minute span where I kept waiting for the light to get better... instead, it went gray... hold on and I'll post a comparison photo.

I wish the first sunrise photo had more going on in it, but I like it okay.

See Blah sunrise here. (http://beltie.smugmug.com/photos/242180940-L.jpg)
According to the EXIF, I took this shot less than 20 minutes later.

Yeah, I am pretty much, thanks. The change in location helped, plus I've just taken some time to relax and not worry about it too much.

Then I'll have a 50mm 1.4 coming before too long, so I'll have something new to distract me for awhile.

To be totally clear: I was NOT being self-deprecating about my photo in the first post, just saying that I wish the sunrise this morning had been pretty/striking/interesting for more than a few minutes. Even in its full glory, it wasn't that great.

Yeah, after seeing the other shot from the sunrise, it looked like crap (the sunrise). Surprised you got what you did on the same day. Just goes to show timing is everything.

i honestly don't know what the line is. there was a parking lot light that i was shooting over. in this picture, instead of a glare, it was a line.
