Okay, I lied in my earlier post.

I shot this while hiking through the snow this morning. The snow was about calf deep but in places the drifts were near waist-deep. I'm around 6 ft. tall for reference. It made quite the hiking experience with near zero temps again and a healthy amount of wind.

Yeah, I think I got one this morning. I'll post it at some point for sure. I'm just glad I'm actually taking the time to slow down and take some shots of ME in these beautiful places I end up. I'm always a bit depressed when I have tons of shots of the place, but nothing with me in them since I'm usually out there solo. Although, I'd prefer just to set up the tripod and plan/shoot it myself even with someone with me...

Taking and posting are completely separate. Ben is taking the photo today, then posting it tomorrow if I understand correctly.

Either way, the point of this POD isn't about rules, its more about everyone getting out and shooting something. So, no matter what your schedule is, as long as your shooting and posting when you can, I don't see a problem with it.

Yes, Scotts got it. The point is to shoot one shot per day. When you put it in the specific thread doesn't matter. Like if I go on vacation. I'll shoot the whole time, come home, PP, then post them all in one sitting a week or so late. And also, as Scott said, it's all about getting people out shooting. Shot how you want to keep yourself motivated. Yes the goal is one image per day, and yes it would be best if you posted them that day, but realistically that ain't happening, so just shoot what/when you can and share when you can.

JUST KEEP SHOOTING!

I WISH! It's a historic house in Hillsborough, NC, built in the early 1900s (there are a bunch like that there, with some as old as the late 1700s!).

My house is a Cape Cod built in 1984. Nice, but not that exciting.

Damn, nice shot mark. And getting us out shooting is what this is all about. I'm thrilled with the fact all of us are doing this, because I bet I would have already missed a day if it wasn't for everyone else in here posting... Now I feel obligated. Also the more you shoot, the better you get, so that's one awesome aspect of this. The other fun thing is at the end, to be able to go though a whole bunch of random shots over the year. You can see what moods/styles/subjects you were into.

We need to do something similar for going to the gym...

So I had to settle for an iA setup with the flash. Played a bit with it on Corel PaintShop and Picasa. Technically, I took the photo on Thursday but wasn't able to post it until now. It was PITA to edit the bright reflective license plate out.

It's actually focal B&W where the splash of color is on my Prius. The pic looked bright on the LCD monitor I have at home last night, but here on my CRT, I cna berly make it out. If I turn off the fine pic mode and increase brightness, then I get to see it better.

I may have to lighten it a bit more.

Thanks.

I'm not sure that its just the same. It definitely gets you in the habit of doing things with your hands and feet separately like a drum set but it isn't quite the same (I suck on a drum set but I do OK on rock band).
