HA! I already took my picture. It's snowing and my mom in FL begged me to take a picture of the snow.

Snow in the trees:

The PP may be a little "off" but that's because I'm on my laptop and what looks good here, probably looks like crap on a decent monitor.

*EDIT* I just got yelled at by SOMEONE for posting two pictures... So I baleeted one. :(

Now that this thread was made, I see how 1 thread per day is better than one big thread.

I took like 500 pictures last night, but with my friends D80. He has a sb600 and a gary fong diffuser. Holy crap was that addictive! Add in alcohol and I was lighting up the room. I won't see this pictures for a while tho.

Edit: I just called. I took a whopping 800 pictures. HAHAHAHA

Not hiding it on purpose. How do I make it available?

when you save, make sure you DON'T USE "save for web" as that strips it... if you didn't do that, then it could be with your hosting... you need to link to the original size you uploaded as any host created sized won't have it, and even then some hosts strip it from any uploads.

And who made this section!?.

I'll try to shoot something today, but you might not see it till tomorrow.

I resized it to 800 and linked the original from Flickr. Did that work? I can see the data in PS but not here. Hmmm.

jacobsen1
01-01-2008, 04:25 PM
in PS you have to use "save as" when you make the jpeg
I know flickr makes other versions, so you'll have to wait for someone who knows flickr better to help with how to link the image with the exif intact.

QJ
01-01-2008, 04:28 PM
I used the "save as" when I made the copy. I'll just create a new gallery for this project on my site instead of hosting it at Flickr. Much better! :)

Dude, this is fine as we're helping you with Exif viewing...
You need to install the opanda plugin. I'd bet 90% of us are using FF, so if not, maybe try that? Either way, goto the opanda site and install their plugin viewer for your browser. Once installed, you should be able to right click an image and see a "view exif" option.

I shot something for "today" (the 1st) but won't post it until I'm at work...

Flickr will work.

Use "Save As" in PS (I use CS3).
Upload to flickr like you normally do.
Once in flickr and linking, make sure you go to a specific size in the "all sizes" button on the picture (don't use the med size thumbnail that has the v=0 @ the end of the url)

Couple things to tell if you're doing it right:
-When you click a pic and see the med size pic, it should say on the right towards the mid-bottom something like "Taken with a Canon Digital Rebel" and "more properties" This is how to look at the exif on flickr
-If you crop the pic, and do a cut/paste to do it it won't save the exif. Use Image/Crop to keep it intact.

When you post it doesn't matter. Sure it's nice if we can stay close to the date taken and the date posted, but it only matters that you shot it on that date.... And really, there are ways to cheat anyway, so it's just to keep yourself honest for your project.

Well it's up to you. It's not like there is a money prize at the end here... This is all about getting us all out shooting more often and trying to avoid funks... I really want to finally finish one (this is my third attempt) so this section has been helping me tremendously... If you want to cheat to make yours complete, that's fine with me, but what feels better? 365/366 or cheating for 100%?
