So I drive an hour north to an inland lake in the middle of nowhere to shoot this

I get there and realize all 3 of my batteries are nearly dead. I was pissed as you can image, so instead of shooting this ISO100 for an hour or more I had to shoot ISO400 for 25 minutes and hope the in camera noise reduction would finish before the battery died.
It lasted, but the Full Rez shot was much noisier than I would have liked and now I have to go back with full batteries and wait a month for the new moon.

So, I bought this

Now I can charge my batteries in my car in about an hours time if I ever make a bone head move like that again, which I will.

Might want to think about picking up a battery grip if Pentax makes one that accept AAs. That way you can stow away emergency batteries in your car, your pack, etc. And have another backup plan beyond having to wait to charge up what you've got.

also, $12 is a good deal, but why not get a small 1 outlet inverter? Then you can use your car to charge/power anything that might need it? Yes, they are more expensive, but being able to power your laptop, charge you camera, or anything else is worth it. :)

I do have one of those, but this claims 1 hour charge time and my wall charger is 3 hours, so this would be faster/more efficient when charging I am thinking.
